Freeport, Grand Bahama Island – Recently the Grand
Lucayan Resort hosted a team of international journalists to the island for a five-day
familiarization trip. The Bahamas Weekly News Team had the chance to connect
with three of travel writers on Saturday September 6th to hear first
hand their impressions of Grand Bahama Island.
Rob
DiPano with CaribJournal.com said that the highlight of the familiarization
trip for him was the visit to Gold Rock Beach. DiPano went on to say that Grand
Bahama is of interest to the readers of the Caribbean Journal because it is an optimal place for families and even younger travelers to visit.
Desirae
del Campo, managing editor of Recommend Magazine of Miami Lakes, Florida described
Grand Bahama Island as an awesome family destination that is great for weddings
and honeymoons and fabulous for people who love nature, Bahamian life and Bahamian
food. "The hospitality is great, and Bahamian people are very
welcoming" she said and she praised Grand Lucayan for amazing grounds, food and service.
Violet Baron, a
freelance writer with Travel Alliance based out of New Jersey favoured the Garden
of the Groves and described it as beautiful and relaxed with an atmosphere that
doesn’t exist where she comes from.
Grand Lucayan just wrapped up a busy week! Aside from the
familiarization trip with international travel writers, Grand Lucayan's promotional
