The Home Centre and Fenestration and Glass Services (FGS) have teamed up to serve the Bahamian market with high quality and economical windows and doors. Freeport, Grand Bahama – The Home Centre and Fenestration & Glass Services have teamed up to increase distribution of a wide range of advanced hurricane impact resistant window solutions that are manufactured here in Grand Bahama.

The Home Centre’s General Manager Daniel Lowe affirmed the new relationship as being a ‘win-win’ for Grand Bahama Island. “The Home Centre has always been a leader in building supplies and materials, and with our new relationship with Fenestration & Glass Services our customers will now enjoy the key benefits of their products and ability to deliver at an exceptionally fast rate.”

Mr Lowe said that The Home Centre now stocks a wide selection of top grade windows and has a team of qualified installers that can deliver and install windows for new structures and for upgraded buildings. The Home Centre also sells direct to contractors and sub-contractors at discounted rates so that those contractors can better serve their customers especially during challenging economic times.

“One of the reasons that we are really excited about these windows is that they are Miami-Dade County approved hurricane impact resistant aluminum windows,” Mr Lowe explained. “This is very important as there is a great deal of testing done and a stringent approval process due to the strong hurricanes that we have in this part of the world.”

Mr Lowe asserted that, contrary to popular belief, not all windows are equal. “This is why we have now decided to carry Fenestration’s hurricane impact windows as opposed to other so-called ‘hurricane impact’ windows which are not Miami-Dade County Approved or, in some cases, may have no formal testing done.”

The building supplies expert recommended that those who may be in the market for hurricane impact windows should do careful research before buying. “Don’t hesitate to ask for evidence that the windows you are considering are, in fact, Miami-Dade County Approved,” Lowe said. “After all it is your money and sense of protection that you are dealing with.”

Fenestration & Glass Services opened its expansive $20 million window factory on Queen’s Highway in February of this year, where it manufactures impact resistant windows in a wide range of finishes and sizes. The company’s products were officially tested and accepted as fully compliant with the stringent Miami-Dade certification process, a rare feature among most window products in the Bahamas.

Director of Windows and Doors James Blake at Fenestration & Glass, said that the new relationship with The Home Centre is a welcome opportunity for Grand Bahama residents.
