Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - August 18th, 2017 on a mission to ensure that Marco City schools are ready for the start of the fall term, Marco City MP and Minister of Youth Sports and Culture The Honorable Michael C. Pintard went on a tour of all public schools in his constituency. Traveling along with minister Pintard as an extra set of eyes was a team of construction professionals and chief councilor Kendal Culmer.

Minister Pintard and his team did walk throughs of each school along with the principal or top administrator on campus not only ensure that their requested repairs were being carried out, but also to see if the requested repairs went far enough to provide safe, sanitary, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment conducive for learning. In each instance

The inspected schools were Walter Parker Primary, Freeport Primary, Maurice Moore and Jack Hayward High. Among the areas needing repairs were chipped tiles, exposed electrical wiring, peeling and discolored paint, carpentry and masonry work in a variety of areas, roof leaks, improperly sealed window openings and structural cracks. One school in particular required extensive work in the bathrooms to bring about acceptably sanitary conditions.  Fortunately the contractors and their teams were diligently working to meet the rapidly approaching deadline.

Important to Minister Pintard was supporting the efforts of Minister's Lloyd and Bannister is preparing the schools so that our children and educators would be safe and in a suitable environment that supported learning. He pledged his support to each of the respective schools.
