Freeport, Bahamas - July 3, 2011 marked a new adventure in the life of Doranell Brown, when she was asked to enter the Miss Talented Grand Bahama Pageant she eagerly said yes.  This was her first pageant and as she said she does not fit the typical pageant mold, but nonetheless she attended all the rehearsals and prepared to fight for the crown and title.

Showtime… The pageant was held at the convention centre at the Pelican Bay Resort before a packed audience, the show began promptly at 8pm with the contestants making a grand introduction through the audience to perform the opening dance routine choreographed by Makeda Guerrier.  The pageant was held without incident; after the exciting talent and evening gown competitions the judges had made their decisions and the winners were announced.

Ariel Newbold, who is no stranger to the Miss Talented Grand Bahama had really improved her overall appearance and performance since her first entry into the pageant and was named 3rd runner up, Latalia Bethel – 2nd runner up, Rashan Albury – MTGB Top Model Winner and 1st Runner Up.  The variety of talent included drama, dance and singing but it was the gospel styling of Doranell Brown’s rendition of the Hallelujah song that secured her the title of Miss Talented Grand Bahama 2011.

With all the competition behind her Miss Talented Grand Bahama Doranell Brown will now make her first official public appearance in grand style at the 12th Annual Red Rose Ball on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Grand Ballroom at the Grand Lucayan as a featured performer along with Tony Lowe and the Kingdom Seekers Band providing dinner entertainment for the attendees of the ball.
