Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - 'My Wish for Haiti' is a Language Arts projects completed by 5th Grade students (9-10 year olds) at Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic School.

The sincere wishes of these students show compassion and a sense of love for their fellow men. The school raised money and sent clothes to the country of Haiti after the destructive earthquake.

The following are four 'Wishes' by

Kiana Fawkes, Alan Antony, Daniel LaFleur, Gabriele Josephs...

My Wish for Haiti by Gabriele Josephs

I wish that all the emotional and visible damage done to Haiti can be taken away. My dream is that a sense of security be restored back to the Haitian people. I also wish that all the people of Haiti be rescued from the rubble of Haiti’s catastrophe.

I wish that Haiti can once again have a functioning economy. I also wish that Haiti can get the 150 million gold francs taken from them by France and the Americas. I wish that Haiti can become a regular nation like any other country.

I wish that all the Haitian people can be nourished back to health. I wish that Haiti can receive more medication for the severely injured. I hope that Haiti can be transformed from a somber place to a gleaming ray of sunshine for the tourists and residents. As I see it, Haiti has a lot of potential, but I hope someone else sees it too.

My Wish for Haiti by Alan Antony

I wish that Haiti was a beautiful and peaceful territory and that the people were experts in many tasks. I wish for them to be healthy and have lots more tourists.

I wish that Haiti will have a fair and gleaming government. They should be rich in culture and harvest many fine crops for food and money. I wish that Haitians were content in everything.

I really wish that Port au Prince will have full restoration and that they will be enveloped in love from the world. I wish that I could make people help Haiti. I will also give money every day.

My Wish for Haiti by Daniel LaFleur

My wish for Haiti is for America to send more of the right machinery to them because it could help them get all of the people from under the rubble of the buildings.

My next wish is for them to get more medical help. If you were to see the faces of all the people whose lives were saved it would bring tears to your eyes. It would inspire you to send donations to bring welfare to them.

My wish is that everybody would pray for them because it could have happened to anybody’s country. My final wish is that they get more nourishment and vitamins and that they have no more earthquakes. I know their every day is somber. My wish is that they know that we are still praying for them.

My Wish for Haiti by Kiana Fawkes

My wish for Haiti is that all the people trapped beneath the rubble may get out safely. I wish that the equipment they need to remove the rubble will come.

I wish that the children of Haiti get nourished with the amounts of protein and vitamins they need to be healthy and alive.

My third wish for Haiti is that they get help with their medical issues. I wish people would send supplies and medication for treatment. I am asking people to send more donations, come please help the people of Haiti and don’t brag if you do.
