The Pretzel Heaven was the first of the three to open to the public during the second week in November. Found opposite Zorba’s Restaurant, the bakery offers a variety of baked pretzels which incorporates delectable ingredients in the forms of chocolate and coconut, to name a few. Decorative cupcakes and gigantic cookies in assorted flavours can also be found on the menu. If you crave salty and sweet treats, pay The Pretzel Heaven a visit.

Mermaid’s Marina Grill, where tropical flavor and tropical fun can be had, is located on the waterfront, overlooking the panoramic Marina. Mermaids’ affordable menu boasts of jerk chicken, jerk pork, homemade hamburgers and tropical drinks and the list is endless. Owner Nik Roussos, who already has two existing businesses in PLM answered “It is the only place in Freeport where boats and people are always around from morning until night,” after being asked about his investment in the marketplace.
“These ambitious young people have not only demonstrated confidence in the economy by investing in the Marketplace, they have also given work to a number of individuals on the island.” shared Karen Ferguson-Bain, Entertainment Coordinator of PLM.
PLM is a collection of twelve island-styled buildings nestled on a 5-acre peninsula, which overlooks a fully equipped marina. It is home to the Count Basie Square, named after William (Count) Basie, a Jazz Pianist and conductor whom lived in Freeport, Grand Bahama for many years in the 20th century. The marketplace has been in existence since 1989.
