Freeport, Bahamas - At about 3: 20pm on Tuesday 2nd March 2010, Mr. Reno Saunders, 28years of East Coral Estates c/o GB Humane Society as a field guide, was observed driving his company’s white & black cargo van # GB 6308, west along Settler’s Way during the height of school rush hour, in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Upon reaching the intersection with East Atlantic Drive, Mr. Saunders stopped and allowed a number of drivers who were caught up in the traffic jam while traveling north on East Atlantic Drive, to merge into the Settler’s Way traffic flow, despite other impatient and irate drivers behind him, honking their horns.

This display of driving courtesy on the part of Mr. Saunders has resulted in him being selected as the recipient of this first quarter award.

Members of the public can nominate any driver they observe performing an act of courtesy or consideration towards other motorists or pedestrians while driving on the public roads, for next quarterly award, which will be presented sometime in June.

Nominations are to be sent to the Road Traffic Department, the Police Traffic Department or any member of the Grand Bahama Road Safety Committee.
