Freeport, Bahamas –The employees of The Grand Bahama Port Authority Group of Companies, set a very ambitious goal for themselves early in the year.  In the spirit of Christmas, employees accepted the challenge and donated personal funds; with the aim of purchasing almost 350 toys for each student of Bartlett Hill Primary School.

Newly crowned Department Employees of the Year, represented the Group dressed in Santa hats to aid in the distribution of toys. Mrs. Evette Rolle, Group Employee of the Year for 2011/2012, shared her personal message with the students on the importance of paying attention. “One of the keys to success is to be a good listener,” relayed Rolle.

Amongst the fun and excitement of the toy distribution, (CENTRE, RIGHT) Mr. Ian Rolle, President of The Grand Bahama Port Authority Group of Companies, takes time out to remind the students of Bartlett Hill Primary School, that Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season.

Mr. Ian Rolle, President of the Group, addressed the students reminding them of why we celebrate Christmas. “The birth of Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season,” shared Rolle. “We hope that today’s gifts put smiles on your faces and serve as parcels of encouragement to each of you as you strive to do your best!”

So many people have not been as fortunate this year as others. Realizing this, employees of The Grand Bahama Port Authority Group of Companies, banned together to help spread a little Christmas joy. The employee driven Toy Drive placed smiles on the faces of the children at the Bartlett Hill Primary School this holiday season. Employees of the Group are well aware that helping each other is what this season is all about.
