Freeport, Bahamas - Those who attended Circle of Life on the Labyrinth at the Garden of the Groves Saturday night enjoyed a lovely show, possibly the best yet, with some beautiful singing, dancing, poetry monologues, and a slide show of shelter animals which was beautifully accompanied by Marjoke Twiest’s rendition of “In the Arms of the Angels”.

About 100 people were treated to a first class production with a great deal of professionalism helped by Darren Rollins working lights, sound and projection.

The weather stayed dry and the moon peeped out of its eclipse just above the trees, providing a beautiful backdrop for the end of the show.  The Garden Café was busy both before and after the show, with attendees and performers alike enjoying good food, drink and a great atmosphere. Circle of Life had a lovely theme of creation, praise and nature.

Incredible dancer Lawson Pinder, who is home for a bit before his next professional tour, wowed the crowd with his spectacular performance to “He Lives in Me” from ‘The Lion King’.  He toured with 'The Lion King' abroad, and actually starred in Freeport a while back in 'Fame.'

Dalia Feldman’s “Sound of Music” was superb, and Marjoke's “Alleluia” was stunning. Her rendition was a sort of blend of soul and country in operatic form!  Javan Hunt once again gave Elton John a run for his money with “Circle of Life”. Javan also sang a soulful rendition of “Everything Must Change”.  Tony Lowe's "Heal the World” had the crowd clapping and singing along, and Erika Weir's "I Believe” was magical, especially in the Garden setting.

Brion Roxbury opened with a stirring description of Creation in Native American style; and Ivy Elden gave a touching monologue on “The Best Dog in the World”.

Larry and Colleen Lewis (Colleen on drums) and Vincent Knowles, with Patrick Russell, played delightful Caribbean music to accompany their songs “Island in the Sun” and “Turn, Turn, Turn”.  Georgia Taylor performed a lovely dance interpretation of “I hope you dance”; and the Sunland Students suggested we should “Turn the World Around” in song and movement.

The entire cast and crew received a standing ovation from the crowd after the finale.  The whole show was beautifully performed and, as always, presented in the very professional Elden-McGlone style.  The Humane Society of Grand Bahama is grateful to be the beneficiary of the hard work and talents of these amazing gifted performers.
