Wemco Security Celebrates 14th Anniversary Serving Grand Bahama

Wemco Security Credit Collections Limited, celebrated its 14th year anniversary with it Grand Bahama employees on the weekend. Employees were also presented with certificates of appreciation for their contribution and dedication to the company. Throughout the day employees participated in a walkathon and various sporting activities.

Nassau, Bahamas – Employees of Wemco Security Credit Collections Limited, the largest private security firm in The Bahamas, were in Grand Bahama over the weekend to observe the company's 14th year in business and fourth year serving the Grand Bahama community.

The employees of Wemco Freeport along with the company’s present and former chief executive officer (CEO) and a team from Wemco New Providence celebrated the anniversary with a Mix & Mingle Fun-Day event.

Earlier this year, Wemco's current CEO, Acribba Wemyss, took over the helm of the company from her father retired Police Inspector and former Director of Security at The Bahamas Telecommunications Company, Henry Wemyss who founded Wemco in 2000.

“We have 14 years of good work behind us, but very exciting years ahead of us as we prepare to grow,” Acribba Wemyss said. “Wemco is committed to creating the safest, possible environment and that has earned the company a reputation for excellence and long-term client relationship.”

Adding that Wemco, fully understands that it’s valuable customers, and hardworking staff has propelled the company to greater heights, Wemyss said that it is a very exciting time for the company.

“There are people here today who deserve much of the credit for Wemco's progress here in Grand Bahama and New Providence. The nine-staff members at this location who came to work at this company over the last four years and they have all stayed faithful to Wemco ever since,” she said.

“Together we have made Wemco a success, together we have all made sure that we can gather here today and celebrate this milestone anniversary."

The newly appointed CEO noted that one of the company’s main focus is to expand and provide its physical guard and alarm monitoring response services to more businesses and homes in Grand Bahama.

“We are more than ready to meet the changing needs and make recommendations to improve existing security systems on the island. Our professionally trained and licensed security guards are ready to protect more businesses and homes in Grand Bahama, large or small,” she said. “We remain committed to providing fully integrated, quality driven services to meet Grand Bahama's diverse security needs.”

The CEO and staff, which were all divided into four teams- Peace, Love, Unity and Joy, participated in a walkathon and various other activities throughout the day.

After all of the back and forth, Team Unity emerged as the champions of Wemco’s Anniversary Mix & Mingle Fun Day. They dominated the majority of the events and pulled away with not only a victory, but also bragging rights for the rest of the year.

Employees were also presented with certificates of appreciation for their contribution and dedication to the company.

Earlier this year, employees in Nassau celebrated the company’s 14th anniversary with a week of activities that included a fun day as well.
