Freeport, Bahamas -On January 22nd Labyrinth walks were being conducted all over
the world in response to this human suffering following the earthquakes
in Haiti. There are reports of walks from the Pacific Northwest, to
the mid west, to St. Croix, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and our
own Grand Bahama. Indeed, the labyrinth is enfolding the World in her
skirts of peace, comfort and compassion.
We held our Walk yesterday in honour of Haiti on our Sacred Path in the Garden of the Groves. The Labyrinth was surrounded by low level solar lights and tiki
torches set in the jasmine. We had a large pink candle in the centre,
housed in a big blue ceramic pot, and gentle music was carried on the
soft winds. Prayer sheets, including St.Francis' Peace Prayer were
available for the people who started arriving from 4.00p.m to walk in
prayer for the Global Relief and Healing for Earthquake victims.
After
a good while, I found myself alone on the path with the moon in her
first quarter ; she just appeared as a white shadow in a beautiful
clear sky. So beautiful, God cried! Big tears. With the tears came
the darkness!
My only option was to close the Path, stop the music and turn off the
lights! The Walk was cut short. Rather an undignified end to a
beautiful beginning!
Although
we were few, I am sure our prayers and supplications we were able to
augment the global healing energy, and the monetary gifts so generously
donated will be gratefully received by the Red Cross. We are
continuing the Labyrinth collection of donations for Haiti until the
end of February.
To those unable to be with us, I thank you for your thoughts and
prayers. If you would like me to send you a virtual Labyrinth
(classical) for personal home use, please contact me on grandbahamalabyrinth@gmail.com This is definitely an 'all weather' Tool!
