SLIDESHOW

Grand Bahama Island - Once again the Labyrinth, at the Garden of the Groves, provided the venue for a beautiful evening of Music and Dance produced by the talented, gifted and 'giving' duo of Ivy Elden and Gloria McGlone.

These two generous ladies created a thoroughly enjoyable programme in celebration of Spring and in support of the Grand Bahama Labyrinth on Friday evening 1st. May. In the magical setting of the beautiful healing gardens of the Labyrinth 'WE DANCE, opened very professionally with 'We Dance', by students from Sunland School; it went on to include Lois Seiler's Academy Students performing the exciting Spanish Dance from the Swan Lake Ballet.

The Regency Singers enthralled, as always, with their lovely voices; and dancing continued with the Bahamas Dance Theatre and the Backyard Dancers with their entertaining version of Rake and Scrape at its best; students of the Jack Hayward High School performed Salsa and also celebrated May Day in traditional style by Platting the Maypole.

The specially built Maypole with festooned with ribbons for the occasion, and placed in the centre of the Labyrinth . We had a special surprise treat when Javan Hunt came on stage to close the show with what has become the theme tune of the Grand Bahama Labyrinth,'The Circle of Life'.

The Labyrinth and its upkeep is Community funded. Barbara Chester wishes to thank everyone attending and those contributing time, materials and talents to make this evening such a resounding success. Special thanks must go to Julia and her Cafe & Bar staff, Erika and Michelle and their team and, last but most importantly, Ivy and Gloria (who have promised another Elden-McGlone production in the Autumn!)

We give special thanks to photographer, Mark Da Cunha of MarkDaCunha.com  for supplying the wonderful photos of this charity event. His album of photos from the  event can be seen here at http://photos.markdacunha.com/groves2009.
