It is with deep sadness that on my own behalf, my family, party leader, Dr. Hubert Minnis, the entire membership and supporters of the Free National Movement and in particular East Grand Bahama constituents, that I extend sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Trevor Johnson, the lone child of the late Hillary V.E Jones, her siblings and other family members and friends.

News of Ms. Jones' death this past weekend met with general sadness throughout our community. She was a Bahamian trailblazer in the real estate business on Grand Bahama. A fearless and courageous woman with an unmatched pioneering business spirit, she leaves a remarkable legacy.

The establishment of Churchill & Jones Real Estate Company in Freeport more than four decades ago contributed much to the development and growth of our island. Hillary Jones' life work coincides with the struggles and success stories of Bahamian professionals who against all odds realized greatness. She was a woman way beyond her years with historic accomplishments and her dynamic influences with the Anglican Church, politics, major social events and the business community are well noted. She was a kind hearted giant who loved her country and valued friendships. Her outstanding leadership traits continue to inspire many.

May her soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
