Lewis A. Walmsley was born in Dartford, Kent   England on February 16, 1950 to Leatrice and Christoper Walmsley, a local barber. Lewis grew up with his beloved sister, Tina.

Lewis won entry into the prestigious Dartford Technical High School for Boys in 1961, later graduating in 1968.

In 1973 Lewis met and married Madeline.   From   this union three sons were born, Daryl, Jason and Lee.

He reflected on Britian’s economic outlook which was pretty awful and in 1974 the family moved to Toronto Canada.   He accepted an engineering position with a Canadian manufacturer.   He spent the next thirty years in the Canadian Screw-machine manufacturing industries. The entrepreneur in him led him to create several companies that manufacture and supply components to the North American automotive industry.   In 2000, he opened his latest company called QSS Precision Components, which still operates today.   They manufacture welding tips and welding heads for robotic welders along with airbag components.

***image5*** While helping a little boy named Matthew in an elevator Lewis met his mother   Katherine Sparks.   Who knew many years later Lewis would look for Katherine and they would fall in love.   Katherine and Lewis lived in Toronto on his boat the Christopher George. Lewis always loved the water.     He also chartered boat trips.

Anyone who knew that Lewis knew he had a sense of humor.   He will be remembered for  his stories, jokes and dry British humor.   He loved Benny Hill, Fawlty Towers and Steptoe & Son. He would often send friends jokes and old British comedy videos.

His imagination also led him to pen his first book, Glassidor Glassidor is a new genre of literature created by Lewis, Bahamian science fiction.   Glassidor is the story of a mother’s   love, duty, and   devotion in her protection of Earth’s children. Dee, a space nomad, arrives on this blue planet in 1620 AD to recover a lost artifact sent there by her ancestors 74 million years earlier.   Lewis was very proud of this book, including the construction of the Muss a character in the book.   The Muss still resides at Ruby Swiss.   Lewis had been working on his next entry in the Glassidor series.   Lewis wanted Glassidor to become the first Bahamian science fiction film. He often said “ Avatar, oh Bollocks! Glassidor will be much better”.

In 2008, Lewis and his beloved Katherine left Toronto Canada and moved to the Bahamas.   They made Grand Bahama their home.   They quickly became involved in the life   here.   Lewis and Katherine both joined the Dart League and enjoyed fishing, boating and just being with one another.   You could find Lewis holding court, telling stories at Ruby Swiss or Coral Beach with a glass of his favorite, Chivas!   Give me Chivas or give me nothing at all!

Lewis had other talents.   You could find him in the kitchen cooking wonderful curries, steak and kidney pies and his most wonderful and renowned scotch eggs.

Lewis and his beloved Katherine were married here on Grand Bahama island on October 22, 2010.   However, they have been life partners for   many   years.   Katherine   along with   his entire   family and friends will cherish the time they had with him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Katherine and her son Matthew, Mother Leatrice Walmsley, sister Tina and her husband Nigel, son Daryl and his partner Christina, son Jason and his wife Penny, son Lee and his wife Louise, grandchildren : Alexandra, Joshua, Mitchell, Nicholas, William, Nathan and Ryan nephews ; Scott and Matthew and a host of friends and colleagues here in the Bahamas, Canada, England and around the world.

Ashes to Ashes..
