The digital protection of companies and states, as well as innovations for increased cyber security are in the spotlight

For the third Cyber Security Summit, the Munich Security Conference (MSC) and Deutsche Telekom will bring together representatives of the Federal Government, EU, NATO, US Government, and international leading companies. The summit taking place in Bonn on November 3 is inspired by the transatlantic dialog and digital defense cooperation between states and companies. With regard to the conflicting priorities of data privacy and data protection on the one hand and the need for intelligence and prevention on the other hand, the participants will also discuss the protection of critical infrastructures and innovations in the field of cyber security.

The participants include Brigitte Zypries (Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and former Federal Minister of Justice) who is responsible for digital policy, Sorin Ducaru (NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges) who is responsible for the new security policy challenges of the military alliance, Elmar Brok (Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs), Christopher Painter (U.S. Department of State Coordinator for Cyber Issues), and Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, former German Minister of Defense and currently Chairman at Spitzberg Partners LLC. The U.S. lawyer and data privacy expert Ben Wizner, who serves as legal counsel to Edward Snowden, will also be participating in the discussion. From the field of business, participants include Ingrid-Ellen Arnold (CIO at SAP), Siegfried Russwurm (Member of the Board of Management of Siemens), and Rik Ferguson from Trend Micro, one of the leading brains in the area of security technology. Representatives of the U.S. American cyber security specialists FireEye and Mandiant, whose cyber security solutions are currently among the most progressive ones, will also attend.
