Ambassador Avant Hosts Event to Launch The Bahamas Energy Conference and Home and Builder’s Show

Nassau, Bahamas - U.S. Ambassador to The Bahamas, Her Excellency Nicole Avant hosted a reception for over 60 participants of The Bahamas Energy Conference and Home and Builder’s Show on Wednesday November 3rd 2011to recognize their important work on one of her key initiatives, renewable energy.  Caribbean Regional Energy Forum President and organizer, Jerry Butler, was in attendance to give remarks and a brief overview on the recent forum in Barbados.  Ambassador Avant’s guests included government officials, private sector partners and U.S. Embassy-supported keynote speakers from Ocean Thermal Energy Co. and Bloom Energy. 

The U.S. Embassy’s efforts are in support of National Energy Awareness Week - an initiative led by the Ministry of the Environment and private sector partners to educate the Bahamian public on energy conservation.
