Ambassador Avant Hosts Event to Launch The Bahamas Energy Conference and Home and Builder’s Show

Nassau, Bahamas - U.S. Ambassador to The Bahamas, Her Excellency Nicole Avant hosted a reception for over 60 participants of The Bahamas Energy Conference and Home and Builder’s Show on Wednesday November 3^rd 2011to recognize their important work on one of her key initiatives, renewable energy.  Caribbean Regional Energy Forum President and organizer, Jerry Butler, was in attendance to give remarks and a brief overview on the recent forum in Barbados.  Ambassador Avant’s guests included government officials, private sector partners and U.S. Embassy-supported keynote speakers from Ocean Thermal Energy Co. and Bloom Energy. 

The U.S. Embassy’s efforts are in support of National Energy Awareness Week - an initiative led by the Ministry of the Environment and private sector partners to educate the Bahamian public on energy conservation.
