A message from the Bahamas High Commission in Ottawa, Canada:

Hurricane Joaquin has left a trail of destruction in The Bahamas, leaving extensive flooding, hundreds of homes destroyed, buildings damaged, and persons homeless across Long Island, Exuma, Acklins, Crooked Island, and San Salvador.  There are reports of hundreds of people in those islands without power, potable water, food supplies and other important essentials needed for daily use.

In light of this, Bahamians have rallied together across The Bahamas to assist their brothers and sisters in need.  We are appealing to all Bahamians and Friends of The Bahamas in Canada to assist us with bringing relief to our Bahamian people.  One of the ways you can assist is through financial donations to The Bahamas Red Cross Society by wire transfer, the instructions are as follows:

Canadian Funds

Destination:      ROYCCAT2

RBC ROYAL BANK OF CANDA

TORONTO

PAY TO BANK:   /095912415081

ROYCBSNS

RBC Royal Bank (Bahamas) Limited

Nassau, Bahamas

Beneficiary:     05165 289-423-6

BAHAMAS RED CROSS SOCIETY

An update on other ways to assist in relief efforts will be provided.

Thank you!
