Appeal to Canadian residents to aid Bahamas Hurricane Relief Efforts

A message from the Bahamas High Commission in Ottawa, Canada:

Hurricane Joaquin has left a trail of destruction in The Bahamas, leaving extensive flooding, hundreds of homes destroyed, buildings damaged, and persons homeless across Long Island, Exuma, Acklins, Crooked Island, and San Salvador.  There are reports of hundreds of people in those islands without power, potable water, food supplies and other important essentials needed for daily use.

In light of this, Bahamians have rallied together across The Bahamas to assist their brothers and sisters in need.  We are appealing to all Bahamians and Friends of The Bahamas in Canada to assist us with bringing relief to our Bahamian people.  One of the ways you can assist is through financial donations to The Bahamas Red Cross Society by wire transfer, the instructions are as follows:
