Dear Bahamians, Bahamian-Americans, and Friends of The Bahamas,

We welcome you to join us at the upcoming BAAI Monthly Meeting - This Saturday, Nov. 15th at 4pm, Christmas Splash Dec 6th:


As the year comes to a close, we extend a heartfelt “thank you” to each person for contributing to the successful events held this year. The Association will sponsor a Thanksgiving Dinner for the Bahamas All-Stars Marching Band and close the year with our annual Christmas Splash.

As a reminder all BAAI Members are encouraged to attend the Monthly Meeting on November 15th, 2014 at 4pm sharp. It is important to note that the previously scheduled Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner to be held after the November 15th meeting has been CANCELLED. Only the regularly scheduled meeting will take place, no food will be available for donation.

The Bahamas All- Stars Marching Band will participate in the 2014 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. A delegation plans to greet the Band at the Newark airport on Tuesday, November 25th, 2014. If you are interested in joining us please reach out to a Member of the Association. We encourage all to support our Bahamian Musician’s & Performer’s as they visit the Big Apple and showcase Bahamian talent! The Band is accepting donations (monetary, snacks, meals) all interested persons should contact BAAI or the Director of Bands, Mr. Yonell Justilien at yjustilien@gmail.com.

You are cordially invited to attend our annual Christmas Splash at the Bahamas House on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 from 7pm – 12 midnight. Donation: $30.00 per person in advance and $35.00 at the door (dinner & soft drink included). All are invited to attend. Donations may be submitted via mail to P. O. Box 168, New York, NY 10027.

The Association would like to give back to the Harlem Community. Our first initiative is a Food Drive. You are invited to donate can goods at the Christmas Splash. The goods will be donated to a local soup kitchen.

We wish you and your family a warm and happy Thanksgiving Day. May God continue to bless you, your family, the United States of America and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Thank you for your continued support and playing your part in preserving our Bahamian heritage.

The Bahamian American Association, Inc. mourns the passing of a faithful member of the Nassau Bahamas Association (now BAAI), Mrs. Helen Fisher-Roberts who departed this life on November 3rd, 2014. She held several positions including Chaplin and Member of the Board.

We also mourn the lost of a prominent leader, Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife Ruth along with all aboard who perished.  This tragic plane crash that has left the Bahamas and the World in shock.

May the Souls of the faithfully departed Rest in Peace. We offer our sincere condolences to the Families.
