CANADA - On 25 March 2015, The Bahamas High Commission participated in the 20th Annual Celebration of Cultures hosted by Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada. The Celebration of Cultures showcased the diverse countries and cultures in Ottawa and is attended by the 19,000 plus full-time students and faculty of Algonquin College.

This event provided the Bahamas High Commission a great opportunity to promote the Bahamian culture and The Bahamas as a travel destination. Thus, travel information, maps and promotional posters on The Bahamas were displayed. Lessons on geography were given to countless persons who did not know where The Bahamas is located, that it consists of 700 islands, rocks and cays. Attendees got a taste of Bahamian culture through samples of Bahamian culinary delights, Bahamian literature and recipes and fell in love with Junkanoo as they took pick pictures wearing a Junkanoo costume.
