The Beneby Family at the first E-Passport Clinic
|
OTTAWA, Canada – The Bahamas High
Commission is pleased to advise it successfully hosted its first E-Passport
Clinic in Toronto from 21-22 July 2014 at The Bahamas Tourism Office. The E-Passport Clinic was well attended by
Bahamians living in the Greater Toronto Area and London, Ontario, who expressed
their appreciation to the High Commission for holding the Clinic in Toronto as
it is always difficult for them to travel to Ottawa to apply for their
passports.
The
High Commission wishes to advise that it will hold other E-Passport Clinics in Toronto,
the Eastern and Western Canada in the near future. The High Commission will
announce the dates and locations once confirmed.
These
clinics will be used to facilitate more passport applications for applicants who
reside in cities outside of Ottawa, Ontario.
The clinics are also in tune with the 24 November 2015 deadline for the
replacement of handwritten passports with electronic passports as outlined by
the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Standard. All
handwritten passports will be made obsolete by 24 November 2015.
If
you are interested in participating in future E-Passport Clinics, please
contact The Bahamas High Commission at (613) 232-1724 or via email at
