Bahamas National Youth Choir to perform in Ottawa July 12-14

OTTAWA, Canada - The internationally renowned Bahamas National Youth Choir will be performing in Ottawa:Sunday July, 12 at 10:30am - during the worship service in the Parkdale United Church, located at 429 Parkdale Ave. Sunday July 12 at 3:30pm - Full Monday, July 13 at 7:25pm - Concert (approx. 35 minutes)in the Main Foyer Stage of the National Arts Centre prior to the Battle of the Bands Concert. Tuesday, July 14 at 12:00 noon - Concert (approx. 30 minutes)in the Rotunda of Parliament 

The Bahamas National Youth Choir was founded in 1983 and since then hundreds of young people have passed through the program. Today, they contribute to the advancement of the Bahamas as doctors, lawyers, business persons, bankers, teachers, police, defense forces, engineers, pharmacists, hoteliers, accountants and civil servants. The Choir has sung in twenty languages, produced nine CDs, traveled to seventeen countries on four continents, appearing at the Kennedy Centre in Washington, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Moscow Conservatory, the London Barbican, the Beijing Symphony Hall, the Royal Swazi Theatre in Swaziland and has performed for Queen Elizabeth and Dr. Nelson Mandela. Last year, they competed in Vienna at the World Choir Championship against over 20,000 singers from 93 countries and were rewarded with two silver medals!
