Bahamian Shares Country's Culture In China‏

YANGZHOU, The People's Republic of China -- Senior Information Officer in the Bahamas Information Services Mr. Eric Rose (left) poses with Second Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro Mr. Damir Sabanovic, during the welcoming banquet for "Finding China in Yangzhou", in Yangzhou, the People's Republic of China.  Mr. Rose was one of only four international delegates invited to sit at the head table.  He also opted to wear a Bahamian Independence shirt, showing his national pride and encouraging dialogue about The Bahamas.

Senior Information Officer in the Bahamas Information Services Eric Rose addresses students at The High School Affiliated with Beijing Normal University, in Beijing, The People's Republic of China, during the school's recent international speakers' event.  Mr. Rose's presentation centred on Bahamian culture and Junkanoo, in particular. He was one of four students chosen to make presentations at that event, from the International Masters in International Communications programme at the Communication University of China.  Mr. Rose was also the Class Monitor / President for the programme at that time.

Senior Information Officer in the Bahamas Information Services Eric Rose points out aspects of Junkanoo in a photograph produced by his agency, during a presentation at The High School Affiliated with Beijing Normal University, in Beijing, The People's Republic of China, during the school's recent international speakers' event.  He also presented aspects of the history, cultural significance and importance of Junkanoo, through visual and audio media, as well as using his own photographs.

Senior Information Officer in the Bahamas Information Services Eric Rose speaks to two students at The High School Affiliated with Beijing Normal University, in Beijing, The People's Republic of China, during the school's recent international speakers' event.   He encouraged the students to learn more about The Bahamas, and also spoke to them about photography and writing poetry.  Mr. Rose is an award-winning photographer and writer who was in China at that time pursing his International Masters in International Communications degree, at the Communication University of China.
