The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) as well as many of our Bahamian Citizens have had a long standing relationship with Canada; chiefly through higher education. Many Bahamians have taken advantage of the quality tertiary education afforded by Canadian Universities.

For high school seniors, college application deadlines are fast approaching. The Canadian High Commission in partnership with the MOEST want to encourage college bound students to “Imagine! Studying In Canada”, at “Canadian College Night” at SuperClub Breezes on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This forum will provide high school students and their parents to receive information regarding the Canadian college process and experience.

Additionally, approximately one hundred (100) college and university representatives with will be in the Bahamas from the 17th-21st November, 2014. They will be recruiting students from Nassau, Freeport, Abaco and other islands. Their visit will climax with the annual “Nassau College Fair” at Super Clubs Breezes on Thursday, 20th and Friday 21st November, 2014 from 9am – 3pm.

We are encouraging parents and students to take advantage of this opportunity as well as the opportunity to possibly secure scholarships.

The MOEST will continue to focus on fostering strong relationships with international universities to afford college bound students the possibility to benefit from scholarship opportunities. We at the MOEST are doing everything we can to ensure that Education becomes a core value and that through our various partnerships with colleges and universities our college bound students are given the best possible chance for success.
