Last week (5th – 6th October) Hurricane Matthew left a trail of destruction across The Bahamas. The category 4 hurricane destroyed homes, caused extensive damage to homes and properties, uprooted trees and brought down power lines. As a result, some Bahamians are homeless; others are still without electricity and running water. While some were blessed to have their homes and personal property spared, many Bahamians have suffered crippling losses from the storm.

In light of the above, Bahamians and Friends of The Bahamas in Canada wishing to assist with bringing relief to our Bahamian people across The Bahamas can do so through financial donations via wire transfer or by donating essential items to The Bahamas' National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
