WASHINGTON, DC – Ms. Lindsay Thompson, Senior Information Officer with the Bahamas Information Services (BIS), is among 22 professionals in their respective fields currently participating in the  International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) sponsored by the United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Washington, D.C., is the first of several U.S. cities that participants in IVLP will visit from February 13 to March 3.

Launched in 1940, the IVLP “seeks to build mutual understanding between the United States and other nations through carefully designed professional visits to the United States for current and emerging foreign leaders,” according to a Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs document.

On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, Ms. Thompson paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Dr. Eugene Newry, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, at the Bahamas Embassy, 2220 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W.
