Miss Universe Bahamas,  Tomii Culmer of Grand Bahama Island has been in Florida since January 6th partaking in a full and busy pageant schedule in Doral for the Miss Universe competition.

This morning Donald Trump showed up for breakfast and graciously posed with the contestants. Trump is the owner of the Miss Universe Pageant run by its president Paula Shugart.

No stranger to the stage, Miss Culmer is one of The Bahamas top models and is also a singer. In 2013 Tomii won Season 2 of the Campari Caribbean Poster Girl Search 2013 which aired on Tempo, and she has been a busy model for many years, walking at Islands of the World Fashion Week, as well as Caribbean International Fashion Week. She has been seen in a variety of print ads. Last month Miss Culmer won the Miss Coco International pageant featuring queens from the Caribbean and Latin America.

Tomii says she is down to Earth “tomboy” of sorts, and studied Carpentry & Joinery in high school, and later went on to study Automotive Technology at BTVI. She enjoys playing flag football, sewing, and singing, and is the lead singer in the band, B12. In her free time, she is also a Brownies volunteer at the Freeport Primary School.

Her post in the new year on her Facebook page said, "2014 has been a whirlwind! Blessings, disappointments, love, tears, old connections, stronger relationships... I can go on, but I don't have to. All in all I am thankful and I take nothing for granted. 2015 I'm ready to fully experience you! I'm ready to learn the things you're going to teach me and be a stronger vessel of positive energy for the souls I will encounter." ‪

Miss Universe contestants will be judged in three separate categories; evening gown, swimsuit, and a personality interview. There is no talent competition.

Miss Universe Bahamas has had fantastic fan support and with the proximity of this year's event, many friends and family are flying over to cheer her on. She's also been listed as a favourite to win on Mississology.

88 women will compete for the title and crown on January 25, 2015 aired LIVE on NBC at 8/7c.

We wish her all the best and know she'll do her country proud!
