Women Get Their Groove Back: International Women's Month 2016

London, UK - Media personality Delia Dolor returns to the UK in March 2016 as she presents the UK Tour (London 5 March) for New York Best Seller Terry McMillan, writer and producer of How Stella Got Her Groove Back” and “Waiting to Exhale.” Women will fill Croydon’s Fairfield Halls as McMillan introduces her new book. Sound tracks from McMillan’s films and books will be performed by Adelaide Mackenzie and Aysha Lorren.

In Celebration of My Sisters (ICOMS) started 20 years ago at the Brixton Academy, the aim was to fill the void that was vacant for African Caribbean, Asian and Europeans to celebrate International Women’s Month together. It’s host from inception, BBC’s Brenda Emmanus, returns to present a lineup of the UK’s best entertainers with TV and radio producers/presenters Dolor and Paulette Harris-German as co-hosts. ICOMS has played in over 10 UK cities, performed at the Royal Festival Hall to sell outs audiences of over 170,000 people during its 20 years.

 

The celebrations begin from 4-6 March 2016 with over 30 artists including Sisters in Lovers Rock, Janet Kay, Carroll Thompson, Tributes on Screen; Dr Maya Angelou, Louisa Marks, and Guest Speaker Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon OBE.
