Dear Editor,

As the Majority shareholder of Fenestration on Queens Highway, Freeport, I must comment on the Tribune article titled, $5.5 MILLION REFUNDS SHOW 'UNTENABLE' GB POWER WOES on October 7, 2011.

Mr. Moss's statements, that Fenestration has left Grand Bahama is wrong. We have in fact reduced our operation considerably, but as yet have not left Grand Bahama. Most of the problems we have experienced over the last four years are  due to GBPC and its inability to supply a quality product that doesn't destroy our equipment and at a price that we can produce our product and remain competitive. We have a Tuesday, October 11th afternoon meeting with Sarah MacDonald at GBPC to see what their intentions are and to see if we can work our problems out. If we can not, then we will have to leave Grand Bahama and move what's left to our Lantana, Florida operation. We will then unfortunately have to make the heart wrenching decision to lay off sixty plus Bahamian workers.

I don't see how Grand Bahama can ever recover from this disaster as the internet has so much information (all negative) for any prospective investor who investigate and carries out due diligence before investing in Grand Bahama.

Maybe, after our Tuesday meeting, we will be able to report some positive news for an Island that so desperately needs it.

Believe me we are trying.

Most Sincerely,

Stephen Howes
