Dear Editor,

I was given the opportunity to attend high school in Atlanta Georgia for two years. I really wasn’t aware of the sheer amount of ignorance in the world until I went beyond my country’s borders. For the two years I lived there I was the barbaric Islander who knew nothing of the civilized world.

When people hear that you are from The Bahamas there are many stereotypes that a Bahamian would undergo. I mean I’ve heard from fake Jamaican accents to the age old question “do you use coconuts for telephones?” but my personal favorite has had to be this one, “What is it like to live in a hut?”.

Having shared many hours with Mr. Pierre Dupuch through most of his campaigns for public office, his recent letter suggesting that Mr. Hubert Ingraham cannot be trusted because of his personal experience with him, gives me an opportunity to offer my thoughts on an interesting time in Bahamian politics.

Mr. Dupuch's argument rests on three specific points:

Dear Editor,

The defacement and destruction of FNM posters and signs could be noticed throughout the island of New Providence. On my way out of my community of Mt. Pleasant V illage today, I have noticed that the sign and posters of the FNM leader, and candidate have been knocked totally out of the ground and smashed.

This is a reflection of the high level s of stupidity and wrong acts that plague our nation today. One must ask the question: Do we really want to elect a party of goons and idiots to lead us for the next five years?
