NASSAU, Bahamas — Andbank (Bahamas) Ltd. has announced a new executive team in its local office, combining the best of international and Bahamian expertise in private banking.

Manel Martinez has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at the bank and steps into the new role after more than two decades with the global financial institution.

“I am delighted to take up this new role as I have fully enjoyed the career that I’ve been able to have here in The Bahamas,” said Martinez, who has worked in the Nassau office since 2006. “I look forward to further developing our business in this jurisdiction because of the great opportunities available here. Andbank remains committed to the Bahamas; the local subsidiary was the first to be established outside its Andorran headquarters. Our priority is to expand our operations here because this country has one of the most developed financial services offering in the Caribbean, with excellent infrastructure as well as talented and skilled professionals”.

The new appointments include Deputy Managing Directors George Maillis and Amand Martin who also serve as Co-Heads, Private Banking.

“We bring the best of both worlds in one function,” said Maillis, who has been with Andbank since 2014 and has a wealth of experience in the local and regional private banking markets. “We offer the best quality service to our ultra high net worth clients and I feel honoured to have this opportunity to develop the business and to work with such a good team in this very important industry.”

Martin’s recent move to The Bahamas from the (Madrid) Spain office follows more than 15 years in the industry, with 7 years at Andbank. He has worked at other offices within the group, including head office in Andorra, in the Private Banking Department, and he is excited about the future prospects of the Bahamas office.

“I think this is a strategic business location and bodes well for the bank’s vision of continued expansion, both local and international,” Martin added. “The role we share as private banking heads is a pretty good combination and we look forward to the future growth of the Nassau office as we target Latin America, and new markets, such as Asia.”
