The Anglican Central Education Authority wishes to advise that following initial assessments of our schools in New Providence, Exuma and Grand Bahama, post Hurricane Matthew, the decision has been made for them to remain closed until further notice. As such, students and teachers are to remain at home until our schools are ready for normal operation. Teachers will be contacted by their administrators through Edline and media notices informing them when they are to report for duty.

As we consider the safety of our children of utmost importance, we are working tirelessly to return the school campuses to a state of normalcy. School campuses need to be cleared of all fallen trees, power, cable, and telephone lines, before structural repairs may be completed. Additionally, most of our schools at this juncture are still without power and water supplies, making the campuses that much more inaccessible.

The ACEA wishes to extend best wishes to those parents, students and staff that may have experienced a loss of property. We are aware that some families and staff are still without essential services at this time. We can and will work together to rebuild and replace material possessions. We continue to pray for your safe keeping and Gods’ blessings during this difficult time.
