Winners to be Chosen for Miss Universe, Miss World, and newly acquired franchise Miss Earth

Nassau, Bahamas – The Miss Bahamas Organization (MBO) is thrilled to announce that the 2015 Miss Bahamas pageants will be held on Sunday, August 23 during an exciting weekend of pageantry at its finest. Beautiful women across the country are being invited to apply now to enter the nation’s most prestigious beauty competition...s which will be held under the theme “Beauty by Nature” in keeping with MBO’s recent acquisition of the Miss Earth franchise.

“We were invited to consider acquiring the Miss Earth franchise for The Bahamas, and after careful consideration we decided to go for it”, said MBO President Michelle Malcolm. “By accepting the invitation, MBO now has the three largest pageants in the world under its umbrella – Miss World, Miss Universe and now Miss Earth. These are exciting times in Bahamian pageantry and we are looking forward to an incredibly bright future!”

The acquisition of the Miss Earth franchise now means that MBO will crown three titleholders during two finale events. Miss World Bahamas will be crowned first in a separate competition, to be immediately followed by the pageant to crown the country’s representatives for Miss Universe and Miss Earth.

“There is precedence for this; the same thing is taking place in other countries,” explained Miss Malcolm. “For instance, in Venezuela there is a separate Miss World Venezuela pageant. And then there is the Miss Venezuela pageant which chooses winners for Miss Universe, Miss Earth and Miss International. Jamaica has two pageants, as does Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, India, Brazil, The Philippines – I could go on and on.”
