Atlantis appoints Paul Burke as new president and managing director

PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas Brookfield Asset Management is pleased to announce the promotion of Paul Burke, Chief Operating Officer, to President and Managing Director of Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in The Bahamas. Burke will assume his new position immediately.

Burke, who has been with Atlantis since 2011, has made significant contributions to the operations and functions of the resort, with an emphasis on maintaining Atlantis’ high level of guest satisfaction. In his new role, Burke will lead and oversee Atlantis’ business development, initiatives, growth, and overall operations of the property.

“We are pleased to have Paul transition into his new role with Atlantis,” said Andrea Balkan, Managing Partner at Brookfield. “Paul has a deep and varied background in the hospitality industry, including serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Atlantis. Paul is fully immersed in the Atlantis culture, and we are confident he and his veteran team will work to maintain the resort as a world-class destination.”

A veteran in the hospitality industry, Burke has served as a senior executive in the industry for over 30 years and has an extensive background in operations and successfully managing substantial and complex businesses. Prior to being named as Atlantis’ COO in 2011, Burke was Executive Vice President/ Principal of Noble Investment Group. Prior to joining Noble Investment Group, Burke was with Interstate Hotels & Resorts where he held positions as President of Hotel Operations and Executive Vice President of Operations. His previous positions also include experience with Starwood Hotels and Resorts and ITT Sheraton Corporation.

“My new position at Atlantis is something I have worked towards my entire career, and all of my previous professional experience has prepared me for this role,” said Burke. “I am very thankful for this fantastic opportunity.”

Burke received his undergraduate degree from Concordia College in New York, and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
