BTC Junior Achievement Company to host Future Leaders Seminar

Nassau, The Bahamas - Under the theme “Solving Tomorrow’s Problems Today,” the BTC Junior Achievement Company “BTC Boom,” will host the Future Leaders Seminar. Students from Junior Achievement companies all across New Providence are expected to attend and participate in the event which will be held on February 8th.

Dennis Deveaux, a former BTC Junior Achiever will be the event’s keynote speaker. Deveaux, who is now the Director of Finance and Strategic planning for automotive giant, TOYOTA, served as J.A. president for 1999-2000. He also won two consecutive J.A. speech competitions in 1999 & 2000 respectively and was the MDA winner for 2000. Deveaux is the youngest person in TOYOTA’s history to earn director-level responsibilities. His portfolio involves regional finance, consolidation and strategic planning for TOYOTA Material Handling in North America.

BTC’s CEO, Leon Williams will wrap up the session – speaking from the topic, “Now What”.

Executive Advisor for BTC’s J.A. Company, Mr. Barry Wilmott said, “We encourage all senior high school students to attend this event. This Future Leaders Seminar is designed to get our achievers realistically thinking about how to achieve their goals.”
Over one hundred students are expected to attend the event. Other guest speakers include Troy Sampson, General Manager from BAIC, Khashan Poitier, Monique Hinsey from the Ministry of Education and BTC’s Vice President for Business, Carlyle Roberts. Topics to be discussed include, “Start now, Age is only a number”, “Preparing for your Dream Job” and “Speak up, Speak out”.

The event will take place at the BCPOU Hall and is scheduled to kick off with registration at 8:00am and will run until 4:15pm. All high school students are invited to attend.
