Bahamas' Selvinique Wright to vie for Miss Grand International

Nassau, New Providence - 24-yr-old Selvinique Wright will be representing The Bahamas at Miss Grand International 2016 this upcoming October in Las Vegas, USA.

The model, whose goal is to become a police officer has been appointed as Miss Grand Bahamas 2016. She plans to continue her studies in psychology and sociology while continuing to mentor young ladies who may be struggling with self discovery, purpose and hopefulness.

The website says the aim of Miss Grand International (MGI) Beauty Pageant is their "STOP THE WAR and VIOLENCE campaign." 

"The messages will be delivered across the world, at regional, national and global events, in print, online and on television. Miss Grand International Beauty Pageant aims to be the beginning for the better life for all. The participants and viewers of Miss Grand International Beauty Pageant will represent our call, a loud call for the world to join our campaign to STOP the violence that plagues our society."

Selvinique competed as Miss Star Fish Bay in the recent Miss Universe Bahamas 2016 contest where she won the Best Costume Award.

At the time of posting, Selvinique was not listed on the Miss Grand International website, but they did announce her candidacy on their Facebook page.
