Bahamian Icon Awards to be featured on South Florida’s #1 newscast

Nassau, The Bahamas - The Bahamas’ most glamorous event has attracted the attention of the international media.  WPLG Local 10 news out of South Florida has confirmed plans to provide coverage of the 3rd annual Bahamian Icon Awards.  Additionally, Emmy nominated news anchor Constance Jones will be on hand to present the Bahamian Icon Award for Outstanding Live Entertainment Ensemble.  WPLG is South Florida’s local ABC Network affiliate and boasts of over 5.4 million viewers. The event will be broadcast live locally on Cable 12 throughout the Bahamas and streamed live worldwide at bahamianiconawards.com. 
 
“The overall goal of the Bahamian Icon Awards is to seek out opportunities to tell the stories of outstanding Bahamians,” says Addis Huyler, Founder and Executive Producer.  “The opportunity to expand the program beyond our shores and showcase the best of ourselves to the world is definitely a proud moment for us and an amazing opportunity for our nominees and partners.  We are incredibly excited and look forward to welcoming the WPLG team to The Bahamas.”

The third annual Bahamian Icon Awards is slated to be held on July 11, 2015 at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort.  Over 600 guests are expected to pay tribute to an outstanding list of nominees in commerce, education, entertainment, music, tourism, sports, health, fine art, entrepreneurship, youth development and humanitarianism.  Legendary Bahamian musician, Ronnie Butler will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to nation building though music.
