Nassau, New Providence - The College of The Bahamas has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Taiyuan University of Technology (TUT), paving the way for international education and exchange opportunities, particularly in Information Technology, as well as cross-cultural engagement between the two institutions.

The formal relationship with TUT is aligned with The College’s internationalization strategy.

The agreement permits collaboration in research projects based on common interests in economic development and education, cooperation on special projects to promote economic and cultural linkages between the People’s Republic of China and The Bahamas. The MOU also provides for faculty, staff and student exchanges.

As The College is transitioning into the University of The Bahamas by 2015, forging international relationships with peer and aspirant higher education institutions is crucial. Taiyuan University has over 20,000 full-time undergraduates and over 6,000 post-graduates are pursuing degrees in a variety of disciplines.
