Catholic schools in Nassau and Grand Bahama to remain closed this week

The Bahamas Catholic Board of Education's Update on School Openings:


The Catholic Board of Education (CBE) would like to announce that as a result of damages from Hurricane Matthew, schools in New Providence and Grand Bahama will not open this week. It is projected that all CBE schools in New Providence will open on Monday, October 17, 2016. At this time no date has bee set for reopening of Mary Star of the Sea, Grand Bahama. Upon further assessment of damages, a date will be announced or the reopening of Mary Start of the Sea.

The Catholic Board of Education would also like to announce that as a result of the number of instructional days lost, mi-term for all CBE schools has been canceled. Mid-term was originally scheduled for Friday, October 21st and Monday October 24th, 2016.

All staff and teachers who are able are asked to report to their respective schools tomorrow October 11th, 2016 at 9 am.

We encourage all our teachers and parents to stay tuned to the local radio and television stations for further updates.
