NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The following is a statement by Galleria Cinemas:

Galleria cinemas has been made aware of a scathing and unnecessary social media attack by an individual purporting to be a former employee. In the profanity laden post which appeared on a Facebook page of a guerrilla, tabloid style “news” entity, the individual, whose name was not revealed, has accused the company of mishandling his or her termination and further insults at least two members of our hardworking administrative staff.

While choosing to publicly share these unsubstantiated claims with the public this “news entity” has chosen to keep the identity of the individual at the center of this issue private. This robs Galleria Cinemas of the opportunity to adequately investigate and address these claims that tarnishes the company’s image.

This incident while unfortunate, is far from indicative of the way that Galleria Cinemas conducts its business. Each member of the Galleria team is valued and appreciated for the skills which they bring to their respective positions. It must be noted however, that as in most organizations, there will undoubtedly be an individual or group of individuals that does not agree with the management style. In such cases, it is often in the best interest of all involved to air their grievances in a neutral setting so that any issues can be successfully addressed.

Unfortunately, this individual has chosen to ignore those channels and make what can only be described as baseless and inflammatory.

If the individual in question truly feels aggrieved by any decision made on the part of Management at Galleria Cinemas then they are free to take whatever legal measures are available to them. What cannot be allowed however, is any attempt by a clearly disgruntled individual to attack, or defame the company or its other valued employees simply because he or she did not get his or her way.

Over the years, Galleria has worked to develop and maintain a productive relationship with members of its staff, many of whom have been with us for several years. We will continue to do just that.
