Angela Ferreira of Freeport wins Heineken’s ‘anywhere in the world trip for two’

Nassau, Bahamas - Where would you go if you won a trip anywhere in the world? Brazil, Ethiopia and Japan were just some of the countries mentioned by hopeful contestants at Heineken’s Grand Prize Draw. And though thousands entered the 10-week Heineken’s Unseal to Reveal: Legendary Moments Grand Draw, it was Angela Ferreira, of Freeport, Grand Bahama, who emerged the lucky winner.

The Grand Draw to find the winner was held at a celebratory party in Marlborough Square in front of Pirates Pub & Grill. The winner of the all-expenses paid trip for two anywhere in the world also won an iPhone 6 and a complimentary Heineken travel bag.

Miss Ferreira has her fiancé, an avid Heineken lover, to thank for her prize and has accepted the prize on his behalf. They both plan to take a legendary romantic journey together.

“I was excited, when I heard I won.” said Miss Ferreira. “My fiancé entered the contest on my behalf each time he purchased a six-pack, trying to win the trip. But no one is more excited than my fiancée, when I told him, he screamed! We marry in December 2015 want to use our prize to take an early honeymoon. We are deciding between New York and Hawaii.”

Launched on November 3rd entries were accepted through December 27th. At every purchase, patrons could instantly win one complimentary beer, special edition Heineken 5L draught kegs, HD tablets, Beats by Dre, wireless speakers, and more just by looking under the bottle cap. By collecting and submitting their Heineken caps in sets of six, patrons were also entered for a chance at the grand prize.

The finale party showcased local talent, international foods, and of course the brands’ iconic brew. Local bands, “Thirty-Something” and “Haven” thrilled the crowd with a combination of international top pop and local favourites; and local DJ celebrities DJ Safire and DJ Furze kept the crowds dancing.

To mirror the international flavour of the grand prize drawing, Pirates Pub & Grill revamped their menu with an array of international pub fare including German bratwurst, British fish’n’chips, and Greek Kabobs, amongst others.

Heineken® gave party patrons the opportunity to win until the last moment, drawing hourly winners for additional prizes such as Lenovo “Idea Pad” laptops and Samsung smart watches. Patrons submitted the bottle caps for on-site prizes and entry into the grand draw.

Heineken Brand Manager Janay Pyfrom-Symonette said the promotion was a crowd favourite and Burns House looks forward to similar future promotions.

Heineken Brand Manager Janay Pyfrom-Symonette said “the Heineken brand always strives to put on stellar events and promotions to support its products, however this year we wanted to end the year with a bang,” said Mrs. Pyfrom-Symonette. “This is our second year doing this promotion. After doing so well last year, we made it bigger and better and upgraded the prize from a trip to Holland to a trip to anywhere in the world. The response has been phenomenal.”
