Labour Minister Expresses Remorse Over Killing of John Pinder's Son

Nassau, Bahamas - The following is press statement a on behalf of the Minister of Labour and National Insurance, the Honourable D. Shane Gibson on the tragic death of Mr. John Pinder's son:

It is with deep sadness that I learned of the tragic death of the son of Mr. John Pinder. I am advised that on Monday evening while at his home, Mr. John Pinder Jr met his tragic death while playing video games.

Brother Pinder who serves as President of the Bahamas Public Services Union as well as President of the National Congress of Trade Unions Bahamas is a prominent member of our society and a role model for thousands of young people must be extremely sorrowful and deeply hurt by the sudden loss of one of his sons. This is another senseless death in our community.

On behalf of my family, the management and staff of the Ministry of Labour and National Insurance and the Ministry of the Public Service and in addition, the wider Bahamian public, I extend heartfelt condolences to John Pinder and his family during this difficult period. My prayer is that the Almighty God will, keep him and his family strong in the days and weeks ahead.
