Nassau, Bahamas - The Miss Universe Bahamas pageant held an unveiling tonight at the Albany in New Providence. While we do not have the names of all the contestants we can tell you that Miss Grand Bahama, Danielle Pratt is a contestant vying for this year's title.

Miss Pratt is no stranger to the big pageant world as she's already represented The Bahamas at Miss Tourism Pageant in China, and Miss Coffee International Beauty Pageant in Colombia early this year.

"Miss Grand Bahama is competing in Miss Bahamas Universe," said Glenn Davis, Miss Grand Bahama Beauty Pageant Organization Director. "That's how it used to be in days gone by."

Danielle Pratt is a graduate of Bishop Michael Eldon School and The College of The Bahamas, Freeport Campus. She is employed with the Ministry of Tourism. During high school Danielle was very active in track, softball, basketball, cheer-leading and Junior Junkanoo. Outside of school she was a member of Junior Achievement, The Governor General’s Youth Award program, Technical Cadet and a participant in The Yellow Elder ITC Club #2828, and the 2013 Debutante Ball. Her other interests include dancing, singing, cooking, and volunteering at the Grand Bahama Children’s Home. Danielle's an active member of Freeport Bible Church involved in their Dance and Children’s Ministries.

While we are awaiting an official statement from the pageant, we've been told the other contestants are: Cherell Williamson, Alexandria Pinder, Selvenique Wright, Ashley Hanna, Whender La France, Crystal Stubbs, Erika Adderly, Chivvaun Smith, and Rokara Hepburn (missing from launch photos)  who was Miss Universe New Providence and 1st Runner-up Miss Universe Bahamas 2014.

The Miss Universe Bahamas pageant changed hands this year and the franchise is now owned by Michelle Collie.
