Coral Harbour Base, (RBDF) – The women of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force joined the Bahamas and the world in celebration of the International Women’s Day under the theme: “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights” by attending a church service on Sunday March 8th.

Led by Lieutenant Commander Natasha Miller, Assistant Military and Force Protection Unit Officer, approximately 100 Officers and Marines worshipped at Evangelistic Temple Assemblies of God, Collins Avenue. Bringing the message was Senior Pastor, Dr. Vaughn Cash.

As the RBDF observes its 40th anniversary this year, females have played an integral role in the revitalization of the force. Women entered the gates of the Force some 35 years ago and have contributed tangibly to its growth during that time. Their roles have significantly changed over the years and today, women now occupy roles in nearly every sphere of the military force, including sea going, Airwing, Sickbay, Engineering, Headquarters and Commando Squadron.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force salutes the females of the organization as it continues to protect the territorial integrity of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
