Response to the BTIU Press Conference held Tuesday April 26th, 2016 at The British Colonial Hilton

Nassau, Bahamas - Representatives and Members of the BTIU (Bahamas Transgenders & Intersexes United), in their Press Conference earlier this morning at the Hilton Hotel, publicly highlighted and voiced their thoughts and concerns regarding their treatment and identity in The Bahamian Society.

It is made quite clear that although these individuals are equal in education, nationalism, heart, spirit, biology, culture, dreams, etc. to any other Bahamian resident and citizen, they are disenfranchised simply because they are uniquely blessed in body and identity.

The Society Against Stigmatization & Hate (SASH Bahamas) is a major proponent of equality across all communities, both minor and major, that reside in these waters, not excluding Transgender and Intersexual Inhabitants.

As our belief is in a Bahamas where all lives reap globally holistic (legal, cultural, psychological, etc.) rights and respect, so is our unwavering declaration that the BTIU has an aide in SASH Bahamas to actualize its positive mission and vision for transgenders and intersexes.
