Scotiabank
today reported a break-in at its Marsh Harbour branch in Abaco. The Bank
reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday, November 9 between 3
and 6 a.m. Bank management have confirmed that there were no injuries sustained
by staff or customers.
“Due to the nature of our business, a robbery
is always a possibility. But, we assure the public of our commitment to
security and to the safety of our customers and employees. We are working
with the Royal Bahamas Police Force in their investigation of this matter
and would not like to say anything further which may compromise their work.”
Bank operations in the Marsh Harbour branch
were suspended for the day and are normal banking operations are expected
to resume on Thursday, November 10, 2011.
