St. Augustine’s University President makes call on Acting Commander Defence Force

Coral Harbour Base, (RBDF) - Dr. Gaddis Faulcon, President of St. Augustine's University paid a courtesy call on Acting Commander Defence Force, Captain Raymond King on February 7, 2020 at the Defence Force Base.

Dr. Faulcon was accompanied by Mrs. Bernadette Smith, Local Alumni President of the school. During their visit, they were also introduced to the RBDF’s Executive Command, following which, both parties discussed matters of interest interest.

Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, St. Augustine's University is seeking to partner with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force to present educational opportunities for induvials in an efficient and cost-effective manner through scholarships and also with the approval of a proposed accredited online educational learning platform. This initiative hopes to reduce the cost of obtaining an educational degree, thus encouraging members of the Defence Force with educational opportunuties.

On completion of their visit, both parties exchanged pleasantries and agreed to further discuss the possibilities and benefits, seeking the approval of the Ministry of National Security.

Both Dr. Gaddis Faulcon and Mrs. Smith are former Alumnus, having graduated in 1974 and 1987 respectively. As the world continues to develop as a global community, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force values the relationships of its international partners.
