Nassau, Bahamas - NO APOLOGIES were made for the raw thoughts that the all-male panel expressed during Straight Talk: No Chaser on December 29th at the Sheraton Beach Resort.

Brought to Nassau by Together Apart— a relationship company based in New York— and Phat Groove Entertainment, and hosted by Chris ‘Kazi’ Rolle and Leah Rose, the event consisted of four rounds as the panel boldly faced a crowd mainly composed of women to give a male view on common concerns in relationships including: communication, cheating, lying, and what a man looks for in a potential spouse.

The seven panelists were: owner of ATOM Consulting Keith Marcellus Dean, Bahamian entrepreneur Brent Mayson, radio personality and senior vice president of public affairs and retails at Kerzner International Ed Fields, recording artist and president of South Beach Association Sammie Poiter, police officer and owner of Team Slugger Fitness Freddie Lightbourne, Kirk Johnson relationship coach, and Dr Kwesi Smith veterinarian.

Amanda asked Dr Smith during the final round: “You said men cheat because they can. Will you cheat forever? Would you continue after you get married? Does that make it okay?”

Dr Smith responded: “I was just giving a very basic reason for why. I’m not saying that it’s okay. The woman who you decide to be with forever- you develop different intangible things for her geared towards a level that’s above that physical urge to cheat. I’m not marrying a person for legs [etc.]; I’m marrying that person that makes me smile from the inside. The same legs you have, some other girl on the road would have that.”

Dr Wayne Thompson, a communication expert from Oxford Medical Centre, was also part of the event giving professional advice at the end of each of the rounds.

“If you have unresolved issues in your life, you will not be able to communicate. Individuals who do not have a good sense of self do not know how to get their emotions out of the way. To effectively communicate with a man, sisters, you need to get your emotions out of the equation. Timing is critical. Respect is not negotiable with a man.”
