Supermodel of the Bahamas announces 2014 winners

Supermodel of the Bahamas 2014 winners is Michael Anderson and Stephoine St' Louis

Nassau, Bahamas  - The 7th annual Supermodel of the Bahamas competition took place from October 10th - 12th under the theme "Angelica" and featured 12 young men and women from the islands of the Bahamas. This year's contestants in three completions  were Kendrika O'Connor; Britney Datus; Sanches Thompson; Stephoine St' Louis; Sharonique Russell; Shania Pinder; and Lynden Ranger; Patrico Griffin; Michael Anderson; and Shaquille Bonaby.

Supermodel of the Bahamas is the #1 model search in the country which discovers new faces and new vocal talents. It was founded by Oilinsha Coakley, owner of Oilinsha Models and Talent, Nassau. Similar to America's Next Top Model the candidates are selected, trained and pushed to perform, whereupon it becomes obvious after photo shoots, runway shows, and interviews, who is made for the life of a model.  After night one 4 of the contestants were eliminated when they failed to show up for a photo shoot. Night two showcased the remaining contestants in swimsuits.  Sunday's finale was held at the Sur Club Sushi Bar & Restaurant where the judges made their final decisions.

Claiming the 2014 title in the female category of Supermodel of the Bahamas is 21 year old Stephoine St' Louis, and 21 year old Michael Anderson won in the male category.  Stephoine was born on the island of Abaco where she attended Abaco Central High and moved to New Providence to pursue a fashion modeling career. Stephoine stands 5"9 and enjoys swimming and spending time with friends and family having a good laugh. Michael Anderson was born in New Providence where he graduated from the Anatol Rodgers High School. Michael always dreamed of becoming a fashion model and through his dedication, his dream is now becoming a reality.  Michale enjoys reading, being photographed and working out.

Coakley's annual event also features a Supertalent of the Bahamas competition and this year, 15 year old Sanches Thompson won. She is a student of the Government High School and recently migrated from the island of Andros where she always wanted an opportunity to display her talent as a singer. Sanches enjoys styling, makeup, public speaking and cooking. Sanches is preparing for her first concert February 7th, 2015 to be held at the Conch Fritters Bar and Grill in Nassau.

Le' Face Cover Girl is a new component to the competition and is designed for shorter girls from the ages 15 to 20.  This year's winner is 15 year old Shania Pinder is a student of the C.C. Sweeting Senior High in New Providence and has been competing in pageants since the age of 5.  Shania enjoys socializing, doing research on ways to improve the environment, public speaking, swimming, and spending time with family.

Shania Pinder, Stephoine St' Louis and Michael Anderson were awarded the Photogenic award. Michael Anderson and Stephoine St' Louis were awarded the Best Body awards. Best Judges Interview went to Britney Datus. Judges were
Lee Calendar, David Hoyte, and Deserea Bascomb.

"It
was another good year and our contestants are beautiful as usual. I am very pleased to have four new additions to the agency and representatives for The Bahamas," said OilinSha Coakley. "We have already begun castings for the 2015 event. All preparations began early to create an even better show and platform for the 2015 contestants which will compete next October.  We are actively seeking financial sponsors for the 2015 competition." Coakley's agency continues to grow and his models walk in shows in New York, Miami, and in Canada.
